MISSIONS REPORT 2005:

The Mission Committee has been busy this past year with our various projects.  Patti Boyce was busy this past Christmas putting together food baskets for families from the church community and the half way house.  All total she provided, with the help of monetary and gift donations to provide baskets of food for eight families, a total of 18 children.

Karen Wood was in charge of the Heifer project, which was done in early spring.  She brought her rabbit to Children's service and passed out the arks.  This money will go to provide an animal for a Zimbabwe family.  She also presented information to the congregation on the One Great Hour of Sharing.

I have been active in keeping the food closet in order.  Thanks to all who answered our call for on can a week to keep it stocked.  I hope to continue this practice in the coming year.  On October 14th, Dennis Phelps and I helped deliver 17,000 lbs of food to New Horizons in response to the Hunger Food Drive headed by Temple Adath Yeshurun.

Thanksgiving Baskets were given to 10 families from our church community.  Thanks to donations of food and cash to buy items for the baskets, we were able to donate extra money to the collection plate the next Sunday.

I have written to our sister church in Zimbabwe, but have not recieved an answer.  I did have some contact with the Zimbabwe delegation that visited the conference this past October.  It was a delightful experience and hope to be able to do this again.

Respectfully Submitted,
